[430] Carbon Budget
Despite environmental protection legislation and international agreements such as the Kyoto Protocol, emissions trading, and emissions regulations, the level of carbon dioxide continues to increase in the atmosphere.The PPM CO₂ graph shows the continuing rise in atmospheric CO₂ concentrations. According to projections, the CO₂ budget for a maximum warming of 1.5ºC (2.7ºF) will be exhausted shortly before 2030, for 1.7º around 2035, and for 2º around 2045.

Trotz Umweltschutzgesetzen und internationaler Abkommen, wie Kyoto Protokoll, Emissionshandel und Emissionsbeschränkungen, wächst der Kohlendioxydanteil in der Atmosphäre. Die PPM CO₂-Kurve zeigt die weiter steigenden Konzentration von CO₂ in der Atmosphere. Das CO₂-Budget für eine maximale Erwärmung von 1.5º wird nach Prognosen kurz vor 2030 erschöpft sein, bei 1.7º um 2035 und bei 2º um 2045.
