[412] Arctic Ice Shield and Climate Zones
Color coded zones show temperature and humidity conditions from extreme dry arctic cold to extreme humid and hot conditions in 18 shades of which only 6 are moderate. The extend of the arctic Ice Shield median minimum ice (1979–2000) is highlighted. It is defined as the areas that were at least 15 percent ice-covered in at least half of those 21 years.
