[111-3] Major Rivers /

Rivers have been used for transport, as defensive barriers, as sources of hydropower, and as means of disposing of waste. Rivers also provides the cheapest means of transport. They have been a source of food since pre-history. In addition to being a rich source of fish, rivers supply water for crops. Most major cities are situated on the banks of rivers.
